Yoga Sessions
Practicing yoga has been so beneficial for my riding. Regardless your discipline, yoga will enhance your flexibility, core strength, balance and suppleness in the saddle. It is also amazing for building the connection between mind and body and, more importantly, the connection with your horse, promoting a harmonious experience for you both.
The FEI have also endorsed yoga as a great way to cross train, address confidence issues and stay injury-free.

So head on down to The Yoga Barn and practice with a qualified yoga teacher, who owns and rides horses, in our beautiful, converted barn in The Hawkesbury. Soak up the sounds, sights and smells of the farm while you practice!
You don’t have to be a rider though, bring a non-horsey friend to join you in this unique practice.

Equine Assisted Therapy & Learning
What is Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning (EAT)? EAT is an excellent alternative to traditional “talking” forms of therapy. This modality incorporates horses to facilitate personal growth and healing in individuals, groups, and families. Research promotes the use of EAT for conditions such as Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, treating complex trauma, mental health disorders and those who are neurodiverse. It can also be extremely effective for those experiencing anxiety disorders. Horses have a calming energy, however, also respond to the energy of the person working with them. Horses are non-judgemental and thrive on connection. Depending on the horse, you might need to spend time building that connection to gain a trusting relationship.
EAT is practiced on the ground. It is important to note that you will not be riding the horse. A session will look different depending on the needs of the person and the horse involved. Sometimes, particularly with children and young people, the session can involve grooming and just being in a farm environment. Other sessions can involve horsemanship, obstacle courses, scent work and groundwork. Sessions are run by an Australian Counselling Association accredited counsellor, are person-centred and have the upmost respect for the wellbeing of the person and their equine partner.
